GM offering a few perks to Pontiac owners
Monday, January 18, 2010
In a move aimed at keeping Pontiac owners loyal to General Motors, the company is offering owners of Pontiac models four free service visits this year.
The offers, which apply to owners of 1999 and later Pontiacs that were purchased new or as certified used vehicles, cover oil changes and tire rotations. The offers were mailed out to owners within the last month or so. The letters pointed customers to the nearest Buick or GMC dealer for services.
General Motors lost a lot of previous customers when Oldsmobile folded, and the company hopes to avoid that this time. The idea is that satisfied customers might stay within the GM fold once it's time to trade their Pontiacs in.
