Rare Roadster Spotted at Illinois Car Show
Sunday, June 27, 2010

This attractive little roadster was spotted at the Bloomington Gold Survivor Car Show in St. Charles, IL, this weekend. It's a 1959 Elva Courier, built by the British racing car manufacturer, Elva (as in elle va -- French for "she goes").
About 500 of these were built between 1958 and 1969 and while they were intended for the road, they often found their way to track events, as well. This one bears a dash plaque from the 1958 Road America race season and the signature of Frank Nichols, founder of Elva.
